Peter Riedel

Secretary

Peter was elected secretary of the board of Xertifix. Personally and as a trade unionist, he is an avowed opponent of child labor. In his role as department head of the building materials industry at the industry Union Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt, he has in-depth knowledge of the industry, including supply routes and distribution of stones in the respective building materials sectors in Germany.

As a collective bargaining politician and industry expert, his current work focuses on the cement and brick industry. With his building materials team, he coordinates collective bargaining and union policy for the natural stone industry, the concrete block industry and the sand, gravel, mortar and ready-mixed concrete industry, as well as other sectors.

In an international context, he is actively involved in the European project “CementSkills” – a joint project of the EFBH and Cementbureau with the aim of supporting the transformation of employees in the cement sector through suitable training measures.

He is a member of the supervisory boards of Heidelberg Materials AG and the supplementary pension fund for the stone and earth industry and the concrete block trade VVAG, Bavaria.

Peter has a Master of Arts in political science, sociology and educational science. He has also trained as a trade union secretary and has been working in this field for almost 30 years.

In his private life he is a passionate supporter of a big blue and white football club from Gelsenkirchen, his birthplace. And since his early youth he has loved hard guitar sounds and is a regular concert-goer.
