Chairman

Benjamin Pütter (born 1958, initiator and founding member of XertifiX) was the child labor expert of the Pontifical Mission of Children from 2015 to the end of 2021 Die Sternsinger. Previously, he worked in this position for 20 years at MISEREOR. From 1989 to 1995 he was a research assistant in the German Bundestag (for Petra K Kelly, among others). Since 1980 he has visited India 94 times. He has been active in the Internationalen Versöhnungsbund for almost 50 years and is currently the second chairman as well as of India Child Care e.V. https://www.indiachildcare.org/ and board member of Sahana Eliya e.V. https://sahana-eliya.de/ueber-uns-2/ and partner of Childhood in Freedom https://childhood-in-freedom.org/ueberuns/

He is the author of what Wikipedia calls the standard work on child labor: “Small hands – big profit. Child labor. The unimaginable suffering that lies hidden in our world of goods” – available with a dedication from XertifiX.

Quote: “I have been working in development cooperation for over 30 years and have gotten to know many organizations and “projects”. With XertifiX Sozialprojekte e.V. we are now trying to help children, especially in India, in an unbureaucratic and direct way, who have not had the opportunity to attend school and have had to toil as child laborers, because a ban without help is cynical.”
