The project is being implemented in Habeeb Ganj zone of Firozabad district, which is known for child labour and is densely populated and dominated by a minority community whose children are engaged in the glass and bangle industry from generation to generation and have been deprived of their rights. Habeebganj is a slum area which forms the geographical boundary of Firozabad district, which is considered the largest glass and bangle industry and a centre of child labour in the world. There are 2250 residents in this slum, of which 1300 are males while the female population is 950. Child labour between the ages of 6 and 14 constitutes 6.6% of the total population.
